The Construction Years

Soon after our founding in 1922, Spiniello became a leader in providing water and wastewater heavy construction services in New Jersey and surrounding regions. As we grew during those early years, even throughout the Great Depression, public works projects became a focal point of the company’s growth. At the start of World War II, Spiniello supported the wartime buildup and related capital construction projects on the home front, being actively involved on numerous government infrastructure projects.

Pipeline Construction & Rehabilitation

During the construction boom of the mid-1940’s, Spiniello broadened its operations to include the cleaning, repair and rehabilitation of sewer and water underground utilities. This included work specializing in the construction of sub-aqueous pipelines. In 1946, the company completed its first in-place pipeline cleaning and Cement Mortar Lining (CML) project, this pipeline remains in service today.

Within a decade after World War II, Spiniello was rehabilitating pipelines ranging in diameter from 3-inches to more than 250-inches in diameter. In the 1980’s, Spiniello further expanded its operations to include additional methods of pipeline rehabilitation that included Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) and Sliplining trenchless technologies. Since 1998, the Solimine family has continued to lead Spiniello in heavy construction and trenchless pipeline repair and rehabilitation.
