  • This project’s scope of work generally entailed cleaning, CCTV inspection, cured-in-place pipe (“CIPP”) lining, guniting, manhole lining and replacement of an existing combined sewer system at various locations throughout Jersey City, New Jersey. We successfully performed the rehabilitation of 2,400 linear feet of a 96” combined sewer main. The work comprises the cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining of approximately 25,650 linear feet of combined sewer, the guniting of approximately 3,000 linear feet of combined sewer, and the replacement of approximately 10,400 linear feet of combined sewer.

Parallel to one of the busiest roadways in the world—the six-lane wide route leading vehicular traffic from Jersey City directly through the Holland Tunnel and into Manhattan, we were challenged with maintaining and protecting traffic in an area through which tens of millions of vehicles travel each year. Our traffic control measures needed to be coordinated not only with the JCMUA and the Engineer, Mott MacDonald, LLC, but also with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, and New Jersey Turnpike Authority due to the convergence of multiple state and interstate roadways into the Project area.

We attribute our success on the project to meticulous scheduling around the weather, strict quality control of materials, and our ability to work collaboratively with multiple agencies.
